Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program

Through the signing of Ohio House Bill 110, the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) is establishing a $150,000,000 fund to demolish commercial and residential buildings statewide.  Of the funds, $500,000 will be reserved for each of Ohio’s 88 counties.  The remainder will be awarded by ODOD to qualifying projects on a first-come, first-served basis.  Additional highlights:

  • Grant funds may cover up to 75% of a project’s total cost (i.e., 25% local match is required).

  • The General Assembly proactively re-apportioned any unencumbered fund balances to SFY 2023.

H.B. 110 also established a $350,000,000 Brownfield Remediation Program to cleanup brownfield conditions statewide.
